Alright Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the first day of the rest of your life! The next few months will impact the entire rest of the year so it's up to you and your work ETHIC.
5 Steps to finishing with a BANG
First, Make sure you are working on your personal development. This is the foundation of your success. It starts out with whom you surround yourself with. Are they positive and encouraging or are they negative and fearful?
Right now my wife Jessica is reading a book written by Frank Bettger, "How I Took Myself From Failure To Success In Selling". Reading provides new thinking and confidence. She said that the first chapter slapped her in the face with a reminder to be enthusiastic. Frank says in the book that if you aren't excited when talking with a prospect then you have to ACT excited. What happens is the person you are speaking to will feed off your excitement and you'll become truly excited because they are. Frank describes it better, it's a great book, I know, I read it. Personal development is not just reading but picking up a positive book is a great way to start.
Second, Building and forming relationships with people. When you meet someone new you have to build rapport. Remember that people join you for who you are. Back when we owned the Anytime Fitness franchise when someone would walk through the door I thought why did people join our center of only 5,000 square feet instead of the 20,000 square foot facility down the street at half the price. It was because of the personal connection we had with our members. Even during a five-minute tour, we listened and found out information about them. That's what we have to do as promoters. Find out their need. How will they feel when they reach their goals? What will it mean to achieve that success? Never ever forget that we are in the relationship business. So we are marketing us. Want to know what book I'm reading right now? "How to have confidence and power in dealing with people" by Les Giblin. A great read that has taught me much about myself and how to interact with people better.
Third, Get on Face Book! If you don't have one get one. I read the other day that almost 90% of Americans are online now in some way or another. We all want maximum exposure so take 5 minutes 3 times a day and post 10 positive full sentence comments and also add 10 likes for support to your teammates. If a person shows interest in you send them a message that Face Book is a bit impersonal and that you would like to speak to them over the phone too. Ask for the number and a good time to call. You'll be surprised at the positive response you get when actually speaking to people.
Fourth, Follow the System. What we do is not difficult but it seems some promoters do make it harder for themselves because they won't SHUT UP! You ever talk to someone and then they are telling a story about themselves and they just get obnoxious? If you use the simple K.I.S.S. method and Keep It Simple Stupid things always work out better. You are not the tool! Remember the 25N7 and let the tools do the work for you. I will be the first to admit that in the past I believed that I could get the point across about the products better than the tools. What I didn't get was that what I was doing was NOT able to be duplicated easily. YOU might be a great sales person or have an awesome personality. Maybe, you are the type of person that never meets a stranger but I will also tell you that you are one of a kind. You are unique! What we do in building this business has to be 100% able to duplicate if you want to build it huge. So follow the system by using the tools.
Fifth, don’t use excuses and take action. You are on a mission. Don't let your fears get in the way. How many fears have you overcome this year? 2013 is more than half over so quit sitting on the sideline and get in the game! Some of you reading this need to call up line TODAY and tell them all the excuses you can think why you can't or haven't. They should tell you then to write them all down on a piece of paper and burn it! Be finished with them once and for all and Make It Happen! 2013 can still be epic for the company and can be for you too if you want it bad enough.
Follow these 5 steps and get your work ethic in check. Why Z Why Now? That's for you to know, after all finding your WHY was the first step of our system.... remember?
What happens now is you decide, "How will I finish this year?"

If you are recruiting for any networking opportunity the word "No" is one of the answers that you are bound to get when talking to a new person about what you do. Many people have a fear of prospecting for MLM. I'm not going to sit here and tell you that I like getting No's, but I will tell you that's a part of it. I expect to get some. I'm prepared for them. I know if I'm prepared to be OK with it, then it doesn't matter so much when I get one.
I was a contractor before going full time in the industry. I never worried about if my prospect said "NO", because I knew that some would. I also knew some would say, "YES". I did the same work to get a NO as I did to get a YES. I had to spend time inspecting the job, draw it out, measure it, calculate the materials and labor costs, you know estimate the job. I had to think about what type of warranty I could offer, the time it would take to actually do the job if they said YES. I had to figure out dumpster fees, whether or not delivery of the materials would cause a problem with things such as low branches from trees above, check the driveway to make sure if any damage would occur from these deliveries and so much more. And then the prospect could still say the awful word of "No". It was usually because of price. Not because I was too expensive, but because one of the other bids they got for the same job was lower because the other contractor forgot to add in one of the expenses that I didn't forget.
Not fare right? Well, welcome to life on planet earth! What is fair? That's what I love about what I do now!
It's never about me competing with someone with lower price. Most networking companies have tools that are replicated for promoters to use such as websites, information lines, flyers, magazines, and so on. Within a company all the members share the same prices, the same tools everything we each offer is the same except one thing. It's the word FEAR. Some have it, and some don't.
I love using the word F.E.A.R. as an acronym. False Evidence Appearing Real. Some of us aren't prepared for the word "No". As much as you might dislike that word coming out at you it's inevitable. What's the worst that can happen? I mean seriously! Your prospect isn't going to pull a gun out on you because you spoke with them about an opportunity to be better in one area of their life or the other. The worst thing is a little two-letter word "No".
If you talk to enough people you will get a YES also. Jim Rohn, one of the most famous net-workers ever said, "If you do things often enough a ratio will appear". Your ratio may only be one out of every ten (1:10) or (1:15) when you first start but as you talk to more people your ratio will get better because you get better. Even the most seasoned net-worker may have a ratio like 4:10. Four yes’s and six no's. I promise you will get some yes's if you want them bad enough. You have to actually talk with people about your company and product and there is a specific way to do this. I will get into more posts later about how to actually do that.
So am I telling you to go get more no's? Well not exactly. What I am saying is remember when you saw the presentation the day that you decided to become a promoter of your company. Remember why you decided to joined. Remember the excitement you felt, the nervousness, the dream you had of becoming successful. Use those memories, to drive you to do the thing you may now fear. Prospecting. Fear not the tiny word of no when talking to someone about what you do. Show the passion you have for your company. Be excited like you were when you initially joined. So what if they never decide to join you. There are millions of people out there waiting to hear your story. Prove it to yourself.
So be prepared for the word "No" because that's the worst that can happen. Be prepared for the awesome word "YES" too.

"Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently.
They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About
the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things.
They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the
crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to
think they can change the world, are the ones who do."

John C. Maxwell-Leadership Retreat 2013
John C. Maxwell is the master of teaching leadership. He is an author of over 70 books and has sold 22 million copies! He is considered the guru of leadership!
Law of the Lid: Your ability to lead will determine on your success. Your business will never grow past your lid. For example if you are on a scale of 1-10 a 6 as a leader your business will never grow past a 5 in business. As you grow as a leader, your team will grow.
Rule of 5: If you were to swing an ax just 5 times per day at a huge tree eventually what would happen? The tree would fall right? Find your tree! What's your purpose? What are your goals? What do you want to knock down?
EVERY DAY DO 5: What about on Sunday? EVERY DAY! What about when I'm on vacation? EVERY DAY! EVERY DAY MEANS EVERY DAY! Do a little bit everyday instead of doing a lot some day!
1) Lead yourself: If you don't follow yourself then why would anyone else. Lead by example.
2) Everyday add value to people! Leaders focus on others first!?
3) Everyday study leadership!
4) Practice Leadership:
5) Intentionally grow!
Sometimes you WIN and sometimes you LEARN!
